Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks
Tony Franklin is in his second stint as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Rick Stockstill. Franklin, who was previously the Cal Bears offensive coordinator from 2013-15, is considered one of the top offensive minds in the business as his offense has ranked in the top 10 nationally the last six years in passing, three times in total offense and twice in scoring.
Rick Mallory, a veteran coach who spent five seasons as a player in the NFL before beginning his coaching career, is in his sixth year as a member of Rick Stockstill’s staff and his third as the offensive line coach. Mallory served as the offensive tackles/tight ends coach during his first three seasons.
Offensive Tackles / Tight Ends
Mike Polly, a former graduate assistant for the Blue Raiders, is in his sixth season on Rick Stockstill’s staff and third as coach of the offensive tackles/tight ends. Polly, who also serves as the run game and special teams coordinator and handled the running backs his first three years, made his return to Middle Tennessee after spending three years at Murray State overseeing the offensive tackles and tight ends.
Jeff Beckles, a former national championship winner, begins his third season in 2018 as a member of Rick Stockstill’s coaching staff. Beckles will coach the running backs for the third straight year.
Austin Silvoy, who served in the role of quality control in 2016, was elevated to wide receivers coach for Rick Stockstill’s staff in March 2017. Silvoy, a former receiver at Troy, has coached the receiver position since breaking into the profession in 2006.
